Duolingo - Review & Download

Experienced linguists claim that time needed to learn each new language is significantly lower and requires fewer efforts in comparison with the first one. So, for example, you already know Spanish, then Italian will be easier for you, and Portuguese you will learn in no time. How far that statement from the reality you can check with the app for mobile devices called Duolingo. Duolingo is a language-learning app available on all major platforms including Android, iOS, and Windows phone. It lets you learn most popular languages in the modern world: English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian. You should know at least one of these languages in order to use this app. After installing Duolingo on your smartphone or tablet, you will be able to do lessons whenever you want without making any schedules as you would normally do with teachers or classes.

The learning process is based on understanding various topics divided into separate lessons. You go from easy to difficult on each stage. First, you learn basics, then more complex constructions and words. Each lesson includes a set of exercises that help you to learn new words, how they are written, how they must be pronounced, and so on. Duolingo uses text, images, and audio to enhance the learning process. So you will learn not only mechanical writing but also listening.

The user can switch to the next topic only after successfully finishing the current one. The app offers to complete a few tests to check your knowledge and win bonus points and rewards. Duolingo is a very gamified program, which is very good for learning. It never gets boring and also stimulates you to learn something new. You will be unlocking new stages and getting new knowledge with regular practice but if you want to refresh your memories and redo older lessons – you are free to do so.

Duolingo is surely one of the best free apps for learning languages on the market right now. It really helps to learn basics of any language (from the list) if you are willing to and ready to dig into it. Lessons in Duolingo are made short, so you can learn them whenever you have free time. The gaming aspect of the app makes learning more interesting and fun. We definitely recommend checking this app for learning. We tested it for several weeks and got some improvements to our Spanish vocabulary.
